Hurricane Helene slammed Florida's Gulf Coast on September 26, 2024, unleashing historic storm surge that flooded Clearwater Beach and caused extensive downstairs damage at Blue Wave Suites, our beloved beachfront boutique hotel at 440 East Shore Drive, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767.
The recovery took over a year of dedicated repairs and transformative renovations.
As of late February 2026—more than 17 months later—Clearwater Beach is fully back and better than ever. Pristine white-sand beaches, sparkling Gulf waters, Pier 60 sunsets, dolphin cruises, waterfront dining, and attractions like the Clearwater Marine Aquarium are drawing visitors stronger than before. We're proud to have supported our community throughout: for over a full year during the major downstairs restoration, we housed FEMA residents and displaced local families, offering safe, comfortable shelter in our Clearwater Beach suites while work progressed.
