We’re still smiling ear-to-ear.

As of this week, Blue Wave Suites earned the #2 spot out of the top 3 hotels in Clearwater based on Google Business ratings. That’s not just a number to us — it’s proof that the experience we’ve poured our hearts into is landing exactly the way we hoped: real, memorable, and better than the rest.

So what actually makes us different from the big chain resorts and the other small boutique hotels in Clearwater Beach? Here’s the honest answer.

1. We’re tiny on purpose — currently 10 suites, soon adding 4 spacious 2-bedroom suites

Chain hotels are built for scale. Hundreds of rooms, rotating staff, and the same cookie-cutter template from Miami to Manhattan.

Right now we have exactly ten suites, which means when you walk in, you’re not just another room number. You’re a guest we know by name. Our team (many of us have been here since the renovation) treats every stay like we’re hosting friends at our own beach house. No long check-in lines. Just genuine hospitality and real flexibility.

We’re intentionally keeping things small and personal, but we’re excited to announce that we will soon be adding 4 beautiful new 2-bedroom suites. This will allow us to welcome a few more families and groups while still maintaining the intimate, boutique feel that our guests love.

Other boutique hotels in the area often require a 2+ night minimum stay. At Blue Wave Suites, we have no minimum or maximum stay on our current suites — the longer you stay, the better our rates get. We give you options and work with you to make your trip perfect. (Our upcoming 2-bedroom suites will have a 2-night minimum, as they are full apartments and daily turnovers aren’t feasible.)

2. Real suites with full kitchens — not just a mini-fridge and coffee maker

Most chain hotels give you a room. Many boutiques give you a pretty room.

We give you a true one-bedroom condo suite with a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, coffee maker — everything). Families cook breakfast instead of dropping $60 at the hotel restaurant. Couples make a quick dinner after a sunset walk instead of hunting for an open table. Extended stays actually save money.

Add plush “hotel-down-alternative firm” pillows, luxurious bedding, and your own private 2-chair set outside the door to sit and enjoy the fresh air, and you’ve got a space that feels like home — just with better beach access.

3. Beach gear included. No nickel-and-diming.

We don’t charge resort fees for things you actually need on vacation.

Every guest gets complimentary beach chairs and beach towels. The beach is literally a 2-minute walk to the sand access (direct path). You can roll out of bed, grab your gear, and be on the sugar-white sand in under two minutes. No shuttle, no rental lines, no extra cost.

Most hotels in the area make you rent beach chairs by the day if they offer them at all. We include them at no charge because we hate seeing guests hit with surprise fees.

4. Location that actually matters

We’re on East Shore Drive — the quiet, residential side of Clearwater Beach that still puts you within a 2-minute walk to the sand access, plus a short 5-minute walk to Pier 60, the nightly sunset celebration, restaurants, shops, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and dolphin tours.

You get the peaceful vibe without being isolated, and the convenience without the chaos of Gulf Boulevard traffic.
